Janet and I met in college at Murray State University and became close friends while spending a summer together on a two-month mission trip to Brazil, South America. Several years later, God made our paths cross again, and we married in May 2004. Since then, we have added two boys to our family: Ty (2 yrs) and Drew (9 months). It was during our freshmen year of college that God brought us to faith in Christ through the ministry of Campus Outreach (a college ministry out of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL). We had the privilege of being discipled over the next few years and served as leaders in the ministry. We both eventually worked on staff for several years. Janet spent her first year out of college teaching English to children in Guangzhou, China with English Language Institute of China. Meanwhile, I began working with Campus Outreach and pioneered a new campus ministry at Arkansas State University. A few years later, I moved to Indiana in order to plant another campus ministry at Indiana State University.
God used my years in college ministry to develop my walk with Him as well as my ministry and leadership skills, and it confirmed my desire and gifts to continue to pursue vocational ministry. These experiences created in me a longing for more theological training for the purpose of pastoral ministry in the local church. Currently, we live in St. Louis, MO where I attend Covenant Theological Seminary. I am in my third year of studies in the Master of Divinity program and am planning to graduate in December 2009.
Janet and I love playing with our kids, spending time with friends, trying local restaurants, traveling, watching movies, reading good books, taking walks, and being outdoors when the weather is nice. We love having people in our home and grilling out so if you're in St. Louis, come by and see us! Feel free to check out our regularly updated family blog - Janet's blog.
